Social workers don’t make a lot of money, so we have to get creative.
Some nice drugstore basics can help a lady feel a little bit of glam without dropping loads of cash. Here is a listing of some of my favorites!
Wet n’ Wild is really a wonderful brand. I love my Essie and OPI when I can manage it, but this $1.99 doesn’t chip and coats well.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream . A quick swipe of this in the morning helps a girl whose only concept of blending deals with smoothies.
Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder. A nice dusting of this on top of the BB cream reduces shine in the T-zone. I also like to keep it at work for touch-ups.
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm. My usual splurge is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment (or, I get it in the occasional birthday/Christmas present). The rest of the time, it’s my Burt’s Bees. Red Dahlia is my favorite 🙂

Revlon Powder Blush . I once read that a small amount of a bright pink blush yields better results than piling on a deeper rouge/magenta. I use this in Racy Rose and and Classy Coral– I was able to snag two for the price of one at Ulta! Couldn’t ever say the same for NARS, now could we?
The great thing about most of these items is that they can frequently be found on sale! Ulta’s regular $3.50 off/ $10.00 purchase, 20% off one item coupons are great. Likewise, the Walgreens and CVS ads are filled with deals each week. All it takes is a little planning, and utilizing those rewards cards (Ulta, CVS, Walgreens, Duane Reade).
